FEATURED ATHLETE : Joessie Gonzales
My name is Joessie Gonzales. I started kickboxing, boxing, and submission wrestling and also competed for the first time when I was just eight years old. Since that time, I have competed in many other tournaments and have placed in almost all of them. I started wrestling for the first time for Skyview JR. High’s Boys wrestling team. Taking 2nd for Junior varsity in 7th grade and went undefeated taking 1st place for Junior varsity for 8th grade. Currently I wrestle for Snohomish High School. I was the first girl for Snohomish High School to ever compete at state. Most recently I won the 120 Muay Thai AX fighting title. It was one of my many goals and I’m extremely proud to have accomplished it with the help of my teammates on the team and the Team Mean Family!
Team Mean MMA is my second home. I attend all the classes there five days a week to improve and achieve my goals. The Team Mean family really is one great big family! Everyone there is kind, supportive and encouraging. We are always helping each other get better and improve. We get all the help and guidance from our amazing Coach Jeremy Pidgeon, my dad. Without Team Mean MMA, I don’t know where or who I’d be today! I couldn’t ask for a better place with all the love and support from all my teammates.
