Featured Athlete: Julia Jones
Julia Jones (“Jewels”) has been with Team Mean family for about five years (Lake Stevens MMA). In that time span, she had six amateur fights and four Atomweight professional fights. She said that she has always been a very active individual but Team Mean gave her a different challenge, both physically and mentally, slowly turning a casual work-out into a passion which later became my career.
Her titles includes a belt during her amateur fighting days. Julia is currently one of the top Women’s Mixed Martial Arts (WMMA) in the Northwest, 4-0 as a aPro with a four-fight contract with INvicta Championships. She also competes in Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) tournaments as frequently as once a month, and is currently a blue belt certified with Gracie Barra NW.
I give credit to my success to Team Mean MMA. The studio has given provided the perfect environment for me – the supportive atmosphere, challenging training partners and dynamic coaching styles. Creating the time to train and become a member of the Team Mean family has opened many doors for me and I owe my past, current and future accomplishments to this gym.
